~My Year in Grade 5...
My year in grade five was interesting. It had its ups and downs, but it was unforgettable! We worked with more advanced tools and we learned through having fun. We all grew in fifth grade and are now ready for Middle School. (thanks to Mrs. Kasal) We learned different and helpful learning strategies and now we can use them all the time.
Parent Questions:
1. How do you manage to avoid social distractions?
1. Most of the time, I move away from the person or people distracting me. But sometimes I just tell them to stop.2. What do you do when, at the end of the math lesson, you still don't understand?
2. Sometimes I ask Mrs. Kasal, sometimes I ask a friend, or sometimes I come home and ask a parent.
3. What is your favorite time at school and why?
3. I like art because it's the most time where I get to relax and just make something out of anything that I want. I also like P.E. because it's the most time where I get to run around. I also liked the fantasy writing unit because I get to use my imagination for the whole entire time.
-Reading ~ Growth: I grew in reading a lot this year. I read two big series of books and that helped me grow a vast vocabulary. Evidence: My reading MAP test score in May is sixteen points higher than the one in September. Next Steps: Sometimes, I find it hard choosing which book to read. I'm going to work on looking for books written by authors that I like.

Also, like reading, in my May MAP test, I improved by 16 points from September. Next Steps: I want to get a very good score in the next math test.
-Science ~ Growth: I grew in science by learning the new vocabulary that could help me conduct an experiment. Evidence: Almost all the experiments that I conducted were successful. Next Steps: I want to understand more complicated science in Middle School.
